Hi everyone! I found this 31-day blog challenge on Pinterest and thought I would give it a try.

I am La Wanna Parker, and I am a woman of many interests.

I was married for over 50 years until my husband passed away. When I met my husband, he had two best friends. They were brothers. One was dating the girl he would later marry, and the other met the girl he would marry a few months later. I mention them because they became my friends as well. They are still with their wives, and we are all still friends that keep in touch and visit one another today.

My husband and I raised four sons, my niece, and our grandson. We have 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Kids always gathered at our home all the time, so we raised more than our children.

Our four sons chose to go into the military, but my youngest, because he suffers from bad asthmas attacks, was unable to join.

My firstborn died in a car accident in 1989, and I still miss him.

I am the oldest of my mother’s eight children, of which seven of us were girls. My brother and I married only once, and he is still with his high school sweetheart.

My father remarried, so I have a half-sister and brother, and two stepbrothers and one step-sister. I was my mother’s confidant, and help raised my brother and sisters. When I was with my dad, I was his confidant as well.

I have flown, but I never liked it, so I don’t anymore. Nor do I take trains or cruises. If I can’t drive there, I don’t go. You guessed it! No overseas trips for me. I love my country, and there is so much I have not seen, so I do not miss taking overseas trips.

Tomorrow I will share some little known facts about myself to help you get to know me better.
