I find myself without a subject to share with you. There are many things I would like to write on and share with you. However, none of them are grabbing my attention.

I have this feeling I need to write on something a little more personal, but what? I believe it has something to do with hearing the leader of my mastermind group speak at a networking event.

I have heard him speak numerous times and heard him share his story. He was a friend of Zig Zigler, and he admired him and wanted to be like him. One day, he shared that desire with Zig Zigler.

Zig told him something he had never forgotten, and it has made a difference in how he saw himself. Zig Zigler said, “Tim, I have no doubt you would be the best second-rate Zig Zigler, but you would be even better as the best first-rate Tim Gillette.”

I heard him say that, and I realized that was one(notice, I said one) of my problems. There are many people I admire, and I want to be just like them. The result is I have lost myself along the way.

So, I have made a decision. I am going to find the person I shoved aside and see what that individual wants. When I have determined that, I will take Zig Zigler’s advice and become the best first-rate La Wanna Parker I can be. I hope you do the same if you are struggling with an identity crisis. Become the best first-rate you.
