Do you ever find yourself wishing you could be someone else?
Are you in awe, perhaps slightly envious, of other people’s success, confidence, happiness, and wealth?
Aspiring to be like your favorite role model is fine, but what’s important is to recognize the incredible potential in you. Here’s how…
Stand in your light and believe in yourself.
Wishing you could be like someone else is such a waste of your true promise. You may not realize it, but you have so much to offer.
If you’re busy trying to copy your favorite celebrity or your cool best friend, you deny the expression of your beautiful, original self. It’s akin to putting weed killer on a rare and beautiful flower before it has a chance to bloom.
Grow into yourself. Discover your gifts. Recognize you are perfect as you are and fabulously unique.
If you’re struggling to see the amazing you, work on your self-esteem. Invest in yourself as an individual because you are worth it.
Change whatever thoughts or feelings aren’t supporting you, and you will change your life for the better.
Once you do this vital inner work, you’ll realize that you don’t want to be like anyone else because you’re happy being you.
So aspire to be you and celebrate the fact. You are such a precious gift. Remember! You are truly unique. Author Unknown
Remember to ‘Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else.’ – Judy Garland
I ran across this article some emailed to me several years ago and felt it very appropriate for today’s world. We often try to be like the individuals we admire, then forget who we are. It is good to have role models in our lives, but only as examples, not becoming carbon copies. Celebrate the amazing you!
Until next time, stay safe, and keep the faith.
