Remembering My Father

As I sit here, reminiscing on this Father’s Day, memories of my father come flooding back. Although he left us for another family when I was just a young girl, his impact on my life remains immeasurable. His words of love and encouragement still echo in my heart, driving me to pursue my passions with unwavering determination.

Whenever I visited him, he would say, “I love you.” Those simple yet powerful words filled me with warmth. Despite the circumstances, my father never wavered in his love for me

One thing my father always believed in was my potential. He saw something in me that I couldn’t see in myself. “You should be a writer or a teacher,” he would often say, his eyes twinkling with pride. His unwavering faith in my abilities planted a seed of possibility in my mind, even if I didn’t fully embrace it then.

I started writing after my father passed away. Before that, I only dabbled. I was always afraid I wasn’t good enough, but my father always told me I was. He said I had a writing gift and should use it to share my stories.

I’m so glad that I listened to my father. Writing has brought me so much joy and fulfillment. After his passing, I summoned the courage to explore the paths he had envisioned for me. I picked up a pen and poured my heart onto the paper, discovering the therapeutic power of writing. My father would be proud of me for becoming a writer. He would also be proud of me for teaching others what I’ve learned. I hope to make him as proud of me as he always made me feel.

Through writing, I found my voice. And as I delved deeper into the world of words, I realized that teaching was a natural extension of my newfound passion. I wanted to share my knowledge and help others discover their creative potential. I wanted to pass on the love and guidance that my father had bestowed upon me.

Today, as I honor my father’s memory, I am grateful for the lessons he taught me and his love for me. He may not physically be here with me, but his spirit lives on through the words I write and the knowledge I pass on to others.

This Father’s Day, I encourage you to cherish the memories of your fathers or father figures who have shaped your life. Let their love and support inspire you to follow your dreams and believe in yourself, even when it feels difficult. May their legacy of love continue to guide us as we navigate our journeys.

As I conclude this heartfelt tribute to my father, I can’t help but feel a deep sense of gratitude for the love he bestowed upon me. Though he may be physically absent, his presence remains strong within me, propelling me forward in pursuing my dreams. I miss him dearly, but I know that his love and belief in me will forever shape the person I am becoming.
